Community Group Questions – Jehovah Qanna: The Lord Who Is Jealous
1. Exodus 34:14 says God’s very name is Jealous. How is God’s holy jealousy different from human jealousy?
2. Deuteronomy 4:24 calls God a “consuming fire.” What do you think it means that His jealousy both protects and purifies His people?
3. Can you think of a time when you believed the “bait-and-switch” lie of the enemy (John 10:10; James 1:15) — when something looked freeing but actually led to bondage/chains?
4. In contrast, when have you experienced God’s jealous love pulling you back, cleansing you, and giving you true life?
5. What competes most for your heart’s devotion right now (work, relationships, comfort, approval, entertainment, social media, etc.)?
6. Read 1 Peter 4:1–5. This passage tells us to turn from sin and live for God’s will. What’s one concrete step you can take this week to turn from an idol or sin and choose God’s will instead?
