1. The sermon highlights how the Old Testament points to the cross. Which example (Genesis 22, Exodus 12, Psalm 22, Isaiah 53, or Numbers 21) stood out most to you, and why?
2. Read 1 Corinthians 1:18. Why do you think the message of the cross can seem “foolish” or illogical to some people today? What makes it powerful to believers?
3. In Genesis 22 and Exodus 12, we see powerful images of sacrifice. What do these stories teach us about God’s heart and His plan for Jesus?
4. Reflect on Isaiah 53. What do these verses reveal about what Jesus endured on the cross—and why He did it?
5. Read Numbers 21:8,9. Why do you think God required the Israelites to simply look at the serpent to be healed? What does this teach us about faith and salvation?
6. Read John 3:14-17. How did Jesus fulfill the prophetic picture given in Numbers 21 of the serpent  lifted up on the pole? How does putting our faith in Jesus dying on the cross bring us healing today?
7.  The sermon emphasizes that people could not save themselves from the snake bites. In what ways do people today try to “fix” or save themselves instead of looking to Jesus?
8.  The message calls us to “look away from ourselves and believe.” What does that practically look like in your life right now? Is there anything keeping you from fully trusting Jesus?
