Day 7 - Knowing Him,
Not Just Knowing About Him
Philippians 3:3 (NLT)
"For we who worship by the Spirit of God are the ones who are truly circumcised. We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. We put no confidence in human effort,
There's a difference between knowing about someone and actually knowing them."
John 14:6 (NLT)
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."
You can know a person's name, their accomplishments, their background, and even their favorite things without having a relationship with them.
The same can be true spiritually.
We can know Bible stories, attend church, understand Christian language, and still neglect personal fellowship with Jesus.
In Philippians 3, Paul points away from confidence in human effort and toward what Christ has done.
Jesus also makes it clear in John 14:6 that He is the way to the Father.
Our relationship with God isn't built on how impressive our religious activity looks.
It's built on Jesus.
This is such a freeing truth.
We don't have to perform our way into God's presence.
Through Christ, we're invited to draw near.
And as we grow closer to Him, our hearts begin to change.
We become less concerned with appearing spiritual and more concerned with actually knowing the One we worship.
Heart Check
A Moment With Jesus
Jesus, I don't want to settle for knowing things about You. I want to know You personally. Draw me closer and help me build my life around Your presence and truth. Amen.
Live It Out: Spend ten minutes in prayer today without rushing to the next thing.

Heart Check
- Am I more comfortable talking about God than spending time with Him?
- What is one way I can deepen my relationship with Jesus this coming week?
