Day 5 - First Place

Matthew 4:10 (NLT)

“Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him. “For the Scriptures say,
‘You must worship the Lord your God
    and serve only him.’”

It's easy to say that God comes first.

Living that way is another story.

We all face moments when following Jesus requires a choice. Sometimes it's a big decision. Other times it's something nobody else will ever know about.

In Matthew 4, Jesus responds to temptation by declaring that worship and service belong to God alone.

Jesus knew who deserved His allegiance.

And that truth shaped His response.

Worship isn't simply what we say about God. It's revealed through the decisions we make because of who He is.
When we choose integrity over convenience, forgiveness over bitterness, or obedience over personal preference, we're acknowledging that God's authority matters more than our immediate desires.

Putting God first doesn't mean every decision becomes easy.

It means we've decided who gets the final say.
And the more we trust His heart, the more willing we become to follow His ways.

Heart Check
  1. Is there an area of my life where I say God comes first but struggle to give Him control?
  2. What would obedience look like in that area today?

A Moment With Jesus
Jesus, I want You to have first place in my life. Not just in my words, but in my choices. Help me trust Your wisdom above my own desires. Amen.

Live It Out: Make one intentional decision today based on what honors God rather than what feels easiest.
