Read: Psalm 149:2–5 (NLT)

O Israel, rejoice in your Maker.
    O people of Jerusalem, exult in your King.
Praise his name with dancing,
    accompanied by tambourine and harp.
For the Lord delights in his people;
    he crowns the humble with victory.
Let the faithful rejoice that he honors them.
    Let them sing for joy as they lie on their beds.

Joy isn't the same thing as happiness.

Happiness often depends on what is happening around us.

Joy can exist even when circumstances are difficult because its foundation is deeper.

Psalm 149 invites God's people to rejoice in their Maker and celebrate their King.

There's something powerful about remembering that we belong to God.

Our identity isn't ultimately determined by our struggles, failures, or circumstances.

We belong to the One who made us.

And that gives us a reason to rejoice.

Not because life is always easy.

But because God is always worthy of our trust.
