Day 19 - Unashamed

Psalm 47:1–2 (NLT)

For the choir director: A psalm of the descendants of Korah.
Come, everyone! Clap your hands!
Shout to God with joyful praise!
For the Lord Most High is awesome.
He is the great King of all the earth.

Psalm 66:1–2 (NLT)

For the choir director: A song. A psalm.
Shout joyful praises to God, all the earth!
Sing about the glory of his name!
Tell the world how glorious he is.

There are moments when we become very aware of what other people think.

We wonder if we're too expressive, too quiet, too emotional, or not spiritual enough.

But the Psalms repeatedly invite God's people to celebrate Him openly.

Not because everyone has the same personality, but because God is worthy of praise.

Sometimes our concern about how we're perceived can become a distraction from the One we're worshiping.

The goal isn't to draw attention to ourselves.

It's to stop allowing fear of others to determine our response to God.

There's freedom in remembering that worship is ultimately for Him.

Heart Check
  1. Do I allow other people's opinions to influence how openly I express my faith?
  2. What would greater freedom in my relationship with God look like?

A Moment With Jesus
Jesus, free me from the need for approval. Help me honor You with sincerity, confidence, and humility. Amen.

Live It Out: Share one thing you're grateful to God for with someone today.
