Day 12 - Every Tribe, Every Nation

Revelation 5:9–10 (NLT)

And they sang a new song with these words:
“You are worthy to take the scroll
and break its seals and open it.
For you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation.
And you have caused them to become
a Kingdom of priests for our God.
And they will reign on the earth.”

God's kingdom is so much bigger than our personal experiences.

We all have preferences shaped by our backgrounds, families, cultures, and traditions.

Those differences can be beautiful.

But sometimes we mistake what feels familiar to us for what is most pleasing to God.

Revelation 5 describes people redeemed by Jesus from every tribe, language, people, and nation.

What an incredible picture of God's heart.

He isn't building a kingdom made up of people who all look, sound, and think exactly alike.

He's gathering people from every nation through the saving work of Jesus.

The diversity of God's people isn't something we need to overcome.

It's something we can celebrate.

Heart Check
  1. Do I sometimes allow personal preferences to shape how I view other people?
  2. How can I better celebrate the different people God has placed in my life?

A Moment With Jesus
Lord, give me a heart that reflects Yours. Help me love people beyond my own experiences and celebrate the beauty of Your kingdom. Amen.

Live It Out: Have a meaningful conversation with someone whose background or life experience differs from yours.
