(Continental breakfast is served at 8:30AM. Seminar will conclude by 12PM. No lunch provided.)

CELEBRATION BANQUET

SATURDAY EVENING @ 4 PM

30 Years of God's Faithfulness.  The banquet will include a four-course formal dinner and a "look back" at the 30-year story of The Oaks. Rev. David Gilmore (South Pacific Alliance District Superintendent) and Dr. Gary Barber will share highlights and thank  honored guests as they celebrate the 30-year journey of The Oaks.  Dr. Kelvin Walker will lead a time of celebratory worship during this event. The focus, though, will be thanking God for his faithfulness!

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION SERVICE

SUNDAY MORNING @ 10 AM

Our regular Sunday service will be followed by a lunch and celebratory program that honors the rich heritage of The Oaks, and looks expectantly towards the next chapter in the life of our church.  Focusing on our diverse international community that is committed to “Taking All of Jesus to All the World,” the celebration's theme is: "Celebrating God's heart for the nations." Following Dr. Kelvin Walker’s message and a joyful time of celebration, we will enjoy an international potluck luncheon and the main launch of 2024-25 community groups and other midweek ministries.

MEET OUR SPEAKERS FOR THE WEEKEND

Dr. Kelvin Walker

New York Metro District Superintendent
Kelvin has been a licensed official worker with the C&MA since 1988, and currently serves as the superintendent of the C&MA’s New York Metropolitan District, which celebrates a rich diversity of cultures and language groups. In 2019, Kelvin was elected Corporate Vice President of the U.S. Alliance—the first African-American to serve as a C&MA corporate officer. He served in this capacity until the end of his term in 2023.

Kelvin holds a bachelor’s degree in sacred music and a master’s degree in professional studies in church development; he earned his Doctorate of Ministry from Alliance Theological Seminary.

Kelvin and his wife, Doni, have six adult children.

Rev. David Gilmore

South Pacific Alliance District Superintendent
Rev. David Gilmore has served as the superintendent of the South Pacific Alliance district since 2021.

David was born in Fremont, Nebraska. He is the son of a farmer.  He has spent almost sixty years of his life worshiping in C&MA churches.    In February 1989, David was ordained with C&MA.  He has since served in various pastoral roles at five C&MA churches in Minnesota, Texas, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and California.  He has also served in different capacities at district levels over the years.  It was never a “goal” of David’s to become district superintendent, but after allowing his name to be put forward for consideration, he humbly accepted the post when it was offered. He is honored to be entrusted with the responsibility of serving you as the South Pacific Alliance District Superintendent.

David and his wife, Tami, have three adult children.

Dr. Gary Barber

Senior  Pastor @ The Oaks Community Church
Dr. Gary Barber and his wife Lori started The Oaks Community Church in 1993 in a home, before officially launching in 1994.  Gary grew up in Orange County, California and became a Christian during “The Jesus Movement” in the late 1970s.  After attending Westmont college as an undergraduate and Fuller Theological Seminary, he was ordained by the C&MA in 1992.  He later went on to earn a Doctorate of Ministry from Alliance Theological Seminary.

Gary served in various ministerial positions before being called to plant The Oaks Community Church in 1993/4.  He has served as the lead pastor for thirty years.  Gary’s dream has been to lead a church family that is comprised of representatives “of the nations” and committed to taking the Gospel of Jesus “to the nations.”

Gary and his wife, Lori, have four adult children and two grandchildren.

We can't wait to celebrate with you!
